Earnest Augustus Story, passed to a new life with his Lord on Monday, January 15, 2007. Born April 25,1921 in Kingston Springs, Tennessee, the oldest of nine children and the son of the late William Delbert and Mamie Lee Anderson Story, He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Mary Eggebrecht Story, who passed on January 7, 2000; four siblings: J. W. Story, Doil Story, Shirley Story Greer, and Betty Jean Story Meadows and one great grandchild, Erin Grace Story. He is survived by four siblings: Bobby Story, Neil Story, Hardin Story, all of Florida and Irene Story Beard of Coleman Texas; six children: Mary Story Eppinette & husband Frank of Shreveport, La., and Betty Story, Donald Story & wife Linda, Richard Story, Bobbi Story Adams & husband Eddie, Paul Story all of Virginia; eleven grandchildren, Michael P. Story, Donald L. Story, Jr., Mary K. Story, Loretta A. Fox, Matthew Eppinette, Paul Eppinette, Ricky Story, Shanna S. Wiseman, Tony Story, Garrett Story, Dale Story, twelve great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews in Virginia, Tennessee, Florida and Texas. Earnest was a veteran of World War II; serving in the Quarter Master Corp at Ft. Lee. VA and stationed in Alaska and served three years in the Air Force Reserves. Upon leaving the U. S. Army he was a store manager for A&P Supermarket in Hopewell, then worked for Allied Chemical nineteen years, and retired from AIRCO in 1985. Eanest has always been known as a hard working, no nonsense man of his word but mostly for the love of his family, home, gardens, and animals, devoting many years to all of them. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 17, 2007 from 7:30-9:00 P.M. in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 18, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. in the Hopewell chapel with Rev. Frank Eppinette(Ret) officiating. Interment will be in the Appomattox Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Crater Community Hospice-840 W. Roslyn Rd.-Suite E-Colonial Heights, VA. or Rivers Edge BibleChurch-11311 James River Dr., Hopewell, VA.
