Eben Perry Heacock, born February 21, 1924, of Chester, Virginia, passed away Saturday January 7, 2006. He was the son of the late Raymond P. & Grace Alley Heacock. Mr. Heacock was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in World War II as an Aviation Ordinance Mechanic. He retired as the Division Engineer, Richmond Division, of CSX Railway after 35 years of service. An avid golfer, Mr. Heacock was a member of the Virginia Hole- In- One Club, after making at least seven holes in one. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years Virginia Howe Heacock, daughter, Victoria H. Ballantyne and husband Michael of Salem, Va., three sons, Timothy D. Heacock of Prince George, Forrest P. Heacock of Dinwiddie, Russell L. Heacock of Chesterfield, four grandchildren, Tyler and Jarrod Worrell, Sherry Anne and Natalie L. Heacock, three great grandchildren, sister-in-law Betty Jane Gamble & husband John W. of Richmond, brother-in-law Lawrence T. Howe Jr., of Newport News, Va., and loyal friends Harlas & Pat Cadle of Richmond, Virginia. The family will receive friends at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service 6-8 PM Monday, January 16, 2006. A graveside service with military honors will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday January 17, 2006 at Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia Va.; entombment will follow in the cemetery.
