Edgar Thomas Jennings age 74 of South Hill went home on Friday, August 20, 2004. He was born November 15, 1929 in Prince George Co., son of the late William James and Annie Harrison Jennings. He is survived by his wife, Matilda Rusnak Jennings; three daughters, Linda Rodgers and her husband Richard of Newport News, Karen Freeman and her husband Bill of Hampton and Teri Holman and her husband Thomas of Newport News; two sisters, Emma Wilson of Petersburg and Alma Conrad of Waverly; 4 grandchildren; 3 great – grandchildren; two step – sons, Randy Davis Seal and Dwayne Rayford Seal. Mr. Jennings was retired from Virginia International Terminals, was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Newport News and was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. Monday, August 23 at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 24 at Newville United Methodist Church, 9014 Hines Road, Disputanta with The Reverend Randy Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society.
