Edgar Orton

Edgar Judson Orton, 90, of Dinwiddie Co. passed away on April 13, 2012. He was the son of the late Wayne J. and Olga Dean Orton and was also preceded in death his wife, Agnes P. Orton; and a brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Gloria Orton. Edgar spent most of his life farming in Dinwiddie Co. and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and a loyal Atlanta Braves fan. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He is survived by two sons, Clifton (Willie) Wayne Orton and wife Sherie, and William (Billy Joe) Douglas Orton and wife, Wendy; one grandson, Shaun Russell Orton and wife, Melanie; a great-granddaughter, Elaina Renee Orton; one brother, Wayne John Orton and wife, Jerolene; four sisters-in-law, Ruby P. Leonard and husband, John, Helen P. Cain and husband, Bobby, Geanette P. Crowder and husband, Bernard, Garnette P. Savage and husband, James; two brothers-in-law, C. Floyd Perkinson and wife, Mary, Warren A. Perkinson and wife, Lynn; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 16, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Frank Mills, officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George.
