Edith Joyce Hawks

Edith Joyce Mitchell Hawks, passed away quietly, on November 5, 2023, at the age of 93. She is the daughter of the late Charlie and Lillie Mitchell. She is survived by her sister, Betty Jo Lester (Ray), and their children, Les (Kim), Mitchell, and Chris; her daughter, Cindy Langan (Louis); her son, Charles Hawks (Debbie); three granddaughters, Hillary Murray (Tony), Melissa Hawks (Gary Haun), Tiffany Sullivan; and six great-grandchildren, Quinn, Lily, Evelyn, Charlie, Josh, and Jackson.
Momma Joyce was born and raised in Carroll County, VA, and promptly made her way to Richmond in 1948, after graduation. She went to work with C&P Telephone Company where she held various positions during her 38 years there. Momma Joyce loved Waffle House, reading the newspaper, gardening, and watching Game Show Network 24/7. We will miss her strong will, her famous sayings, and her sweet and spicey self.
