Edith Hartman Laffoon, 94, of Colonial Heights, VA, widow of William Jesse “Tubby” Laffoon, Jr., died Monday, May 29, 2017. Born in Salem, VA, she was the daughter of the late Harry B. and Bridget Phipps Hartman. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Harry B. Hartman, Jr., and two sisters, Frances Hartman Flurry and Jane Hartman Wilson. Mrs. Laffoon retired from Sadler Materials Corporation after many years of service, beginning in Petersburg at Friend & Company. She is survived by her daughter, Shelley and her longtime companion, Randy Woodson; beloved dog, Abbey; nephews, Richard D. Hartman and Norwood W. Wilson, III; nieces, Joanne H. Beck, Ann F. Perkins, Becky W. McDonough, and Barbara F. Thrasher. The family would like to thank Barbra McLean, Becky Davis, Donna Daniel, and Ashley Daniel for their care and support during this difficult time.
