Edith Reed

Edith M. Reed 67 of Petersburg, died Sunday, December 3, 2006 at McGuireâ??s Veteran Hospital. She was a native of New York and the daughter of the late Charles & Hazel Silliman Mawhinney. She was a retired nurse from Poplar Springs Hospital, a Captain in the U.S. Army, and a member of the National American Legion. She is survived by her husband Paul A. Reed; two sons, Jonathan D. Reed of Fairfax, VA and David K. Reed and wife Meghan of Newport News, VA; sister, Ruth Biddle of Endicott, NY and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Graveside services will be conducted 3:00 pm Thursday, December 7, 2006 at Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia, VA.
