TURNER, Edith A., 89, of Chester, VA, passed peacefully at home on May 1, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold O. Turner; and her beloved daughter, Diane L. Hardt; and granddaughter, Chelsea H. Haddon. She is survived by her daughters, Deborah L. Winn, Darlene T. Kirkpatrick, and Karen L. Turner; grandchildren, Jennifer G. Gardner and her husband, Chad, K. Bryton Hardt and his wife, Kristin, Tori W. Varney and her husband, Tim, Mathew Tyler Morton and his partner, Raelyn, and Nicholas B. Hardt; and nine great-grandchildren.
Edith lived her entire life, including her last minutes, for her children. She was a devoted Christian and spent many years as a member of Chester Presbyterian Church. Edith could be found there most Friday afternoons folding bulletins for Sunday and other special services. She was generous and actively supported many charitable entities. She was always there for anyone and was a bright light to those who knew and loved her. Edith lived a long, blessed life, and left her family and friends with a lifetime of love. She will be missed.
The family will receive visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2022, at the J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 W. Hundred Road, Chester, VA 23831. The family has chosen a private burial service in Northern Virginia where Edith will be laid to rest beside her husband, Harold O. Turner.
