Edith Warren

Edith Haleen Warren, 100, of Hopewell, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2012. She was a charter member of the South Hopewell Church of God, which started in the basement of her home. Mrs. Warren served as church secretary and treasurer for almost fifteen years. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Warren; and her parents, Charles Jefferson and Bessie V. Connor Bishop. Mrs. Warren is survived by her daughters, Barbara Joyce Emmons, and Margaret Ann Curry and husband Walter; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth Searcy, and Irene Fite; and other loving family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 27, 2012 at South Hopewell Church of God, with the Rev. Thurman Collier and the Rev. Gleason Dale, officiating.
