Edna Parham Brown

Edna Parham Brown, age 94, of Dinwiddie, VA, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014. A native of Mecklenburg County, she was the daughter of the late James W. and Eva Reekes Parham, and the widow of Lawrence P. Brown. She was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and served much time in the nursery. She was a retiree of Lerner Shops Dress Shop after 23 years. Mrs. Brown is survived by three daughters, Rebecca B. Lewis (Perry) of Carson, VA, Charlotte B. Wall (David) of Newport News, VA, and Patricia B. Elder (the late George) of Kempner, TX; a son, L. Douglas Brown (Bonnie) of Dinwiddie; 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 19, at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service with The Reverend Robert L. Rowland officiating. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
