Edna Funk

Edna Walker Funk, 83, of Petersburg died January 20, 2004. She was the widow of Charles Herbert Funk, Sr. and the daughter of the late Dyral Edward and Ohrum Winn Walker. Predeceased by her sister, Hazel Childress and two brothers, Durward and Carson Walker. She was a retired secretary of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic School. Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Davis and husband Bill, Susie Brooks; son, Herb Funk, Jr. and wife Rosemary, nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Mass of the Resurrection will be said Saturday, January 24, 2004 at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert M. Spencer officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. A wake service will be held Friday, January 23rd at 7:00 PM with visitation to follow until 8:30 PM. Mrs. Funk’s family is being served by the J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, Petersburg. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Funk Scholarship Fund at St. Joseph School, 123 Franklin St., Petersburg, VA 23803.
