Edna McDaniel Harrison, 95, of Chester, Virginia passed away peacefully October 30, 2021. She was born September 5, 1926, in Sutherland, VA, daughter of Florence Green McDaniel Huntington and Doctor Franklin McDaniel. She was predeceased by her husband, Sidney Meade Harrison; mother, Florence McDaniel Harrison; father, Doctor Franklin McDaniel; stepfather, Donald Raymond Huntington; brother, Doctor Franklin McDaniel; sisters, Maggie Louise Fox and Rosa Lewis.
She is survived by her loving children and spouses of Chesterfield, VA, Sidney Meade Harrison, Jr. (Glenn), Raymond McDaniel Harrison (Patty) and Florence Anne Harrison (Brian Crenshaw). Grand children and their spouses: seven grandchildren: Daniel Harrison Scruggs (Jackie), Sidney Meade Harrison, III, Cory McDaniel Scruggs (Rachel), Megan Rae Harrison Pavell (Pete), Amanda Lee-Anne Chunn (Ryan), Marci Elizabeth Harrison Duke (Wesley), Whitney Elise Harrison Boehme (Christian). Eight great grandchildren, John McDaniel (Jack) Scruggs, Major Ryan Chunn, Olivia Rae Pavell, Parker Lee Chunn, Harrison Rollings Duke, Anna James Pavell, McDaniel William Duke and Oskar Harrison Bohme.
After graduating from Blackstone High School, Edna worked for Eagle Department Store, and later became a postmaster in Sturgenville, VA. She retired from Allied Chemical in Hopewell after 25 years and was an active member of Bermuda Hundred United Methodist Church, where she was president of the United Methodist Women. Faith, family, and service to others made her feel blessed. She was a wonderful cook and loved her antiques and country collectables. Camping and traveling gave her great joy. But her love of her family she cherished the most.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at J.T. Morriss Funeral Home in Chester, VA. Funeral service will be November 10, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Bermuda Hundred United Methodist Church of Chester with burial to follow at Bermuda Memorial Park.
