Edna Irene "Rennie" Johnson

Edna Irene “Rennie” Ashworth Johnson, 73, of Waverly, VA passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018. Born in Hopewell, VA she was the daughter of the late Mertie Denson and Charlie Ashworth; and was also preceded in death by a sister, Linda Ashworth Brooks; and two brothers, Beauford and David Ashworth. Mrs. Johnson was a graduate of Hopewell High School and went on to retire from the United States Postal Service as a Postal Clerk. She was a devoted lifetime member of Abundant Life Pentecostal Holiness Church, Prince George, VA and was a previous member of Kingsway Pentecostal Holiness Church in Myrtle Beach, SC. Rennie had a deep love for her family, her church and her Lord and Savior. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Thomas Lee Johnson; daughter, Renee Walters (Roger); a son, Bryan Johnson (Heather); six grandchildren, Desire, Mikayla, Shannon, Kendall, Justin and Jordyn; a sister, Jeanne Ashworth Phibbs; two brothers, Tommy and Jerry Ashworth; and many loving nieces, nephews and family members. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Abundant Life Pentecostal Holiness Church, 6500 Middle Rd., Prince George, VA 23875. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, 10300 Pridesville Rd., Amelia Courthouse, VA 23002. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Abundant Life Pentecostal Holiness Church. The family is being served by the Hopewell Chapel of J.T.
