Edouard "Ed" Leslie Priddy, 80, of Chester, VA, passed away on December 2, 2022. Ed was born on June 7, 1942, in Bremerton, Washington, son of the late Allen and Arlene Priddy. Realizing that his draft number was likely to be selected during the Vietnam Conflict, Ed joined the US Army and had a distinguished career. He retired after 26 years with a Silver Star and two Bronze Stars, and numerous other commendations, at the rank of Sergeant Major. Following his retirement from the Army, Ed continued his civil service by working another 21 years at Defense Supply Center Richmond, as a Supervisor for Aviation Maintenance.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Hiltraud "Hilla" Priddy; daughter, Catherine Zautner (Jeff); son, Karl-Michael (Kyla); grandchildren, Michael, Mason, and Reagan; and brother, Charlie (Carol).
Ed had a love for the outdoors, woodworking, and animals. He enjoyed sharing his passion with family and friends, whether it be hunting or fishing. Daily walks along the James River with Hilla and their dog was a common occurrence. Above all of these hobbies, Ed loved to spend time with his family.
Ed will be interred at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia. A short ceremony will be held at 10:00 AM, on December 16, 2022. A small reception will follow immediately at Christ Episcopal Church in Amelia Courthouse.
