Edward Manning Lee Cox, 78, of N. Dinwiddie, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Lee and Mittie “Pauline” Cox; wife of 50 years, Dorothy Tomlin Cox; brother, William “Robert” Cox; and sister, Ann Pridgen. Edward was a Nascar fan and enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles and he also enjoyed working on cars. Ed was an employee of Brown & Williams Tobacco Co. for 18 years and later retired from Chesterfield County. He is survived by his son, Kenneth Cox, Sr.; two daughters, Betty Cox Nelson and husband, Eddie, and Debra Cox Burnette; five grandchildren, Kenneth Cox, Jr., Brandy Kanusek, Michael Cox, Stephen Lunsford and wife, Stacie, and Kristina Lunsford; three great-grandchildren, Michael Kanusek and Brittany Kanusek, and his pride and joy Bryson “Cash” Finney. A funeral service will be held at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 12:30 P.M. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday, September 5, 2016 at the funeral home.
