Edward Detrick

Edward Earl Detrick, age 74, of Richmond, VA, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2011. He was born in Westmoreland, VA, the son of the late Paul A. and Emily Christian Detrick. Mr. Detrick was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and retiree from Dupont after serving for more than 25 years. He enjoyed woodcarving . Mr. Detrick is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Marlene Detrick; children, Edward E. Detrick and wife, Debbie, Roger E. Detrick, Denise J. Vargas and husband, Carlos; grandchildren, Amanda, Christopher, Jarrett, Keelin, Phoenix and Ava; siblings, Marlene Brooks, Charles Detrick and wife, Barbara, and Mildred Carey; and half-brother, Ronnie Martin. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 15, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Chesterfield chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with interment afterwards in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester.
