Edward "Eddie" Allen Atkins

Atkins, Edward A. "Eddie", 69 of Chesterfield, VA., passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Linwoood C. and Annie O. Atkins; his wife, Elizabeth L. Atkins; brothers, James C. (Jimmy) and Richard B. (Ricky) Atkins. He is survived by his sister, Mildred A. Bilotta (George) of Mesa, AZ; brothers, Larry W. (Brenda), Gary L., Robert E., and Bruce D. (Kathy) Atkins; sister-in-law, Louise A. Atkins, all of Chesterfield and sister-in-law, Margaret L. Macon (George) of Richmond, VA. He is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews, extended family and longtime friends. Eddie graduated from Meadowbrook High School and went on to play baseball at UNC (Wilmington) graduating in 1973. He also received his Master's Degree from VSU. After finishing school he went to work for Chesterfield County Schools as a teacher and later as Supervisor of Student Transportation retiring in 2004 with 30 years of service. A Celebration of Life will be held, 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday, March 16, 2018 at Meadowbrook Country Club, 3700 Cogbill Rd. Richmond, VA.
