Edward F. Donnelly, Jr., 71 of Venice, Florida, died September 3, 2004. Ed was born June 10, 1933 in Norfolk, Virginia and came to Venice, Florida 4 years ago from Petersburg, Virginia. He graduated from Norfolk Academy and attended North Carolina State University. He was General Manager/Owner of City Distributing Company, past president of the Southside Virginia Emergency Crew, a member of the Rotary Club and past president of Fort Hayes Community Association all of Petersburg. Survivors include his wife, Katherine “Lou” Donnelly of Venice, Florida; daughter, Lesley Roe and husband, Ralph of Seminole, Florida; sons, Edward F. Donnelly, III of St. Petersburg, Florida and James F. Donnelly, Sr. and wife, Jill of Colonial Heights, Virginia. Grandchildren include Emily Roe Taylor and husband, Todd of Pembroke Pines, Florida, Ann-Margaret Roe of Seminole, Florida, and James Donnelly, Jr. and Nicholas Donnelly of Colonial Heights, Virginia. Also, one brother, James Brian Donnelly and wife, Pat of Virginia Beach, Virginia and children Katy and Patrick. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Virginia. The service will be officiated by Reverend David Teschner and the Reverend Emeritus Dr. Boston Lackey, Jr. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 N. Beauregard St., Alexandria, Virginia 22311, Christ and Grace Episcopal Church, 1545 S. Sycamore Street, Petersburg, Virginia 23805 or other charitable organizations. The family is being served by J.
