Edward Collett Qualkinbush 67, a resident of Chester, VA, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Qualkinbush. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Tammy Qualkinbush; daughters, Sara Terrell and husband, Graham; Kortny Shawver and husband, Bobby; grandchildren, Collett Shawver, Tucker Shawver, and Gabe Shawver; Charlotte Terrell, and Amelia Terrell; sister, Marcia Willey; brother, Benjamin Qualkinbush; father, Bud Qualkinbush and wife, Ilene Qualkinbush. Ed spent more than 25 years working at the Hon Company as a quality control inspector, most recently he was working as a quality control inspector for Hill Phoenix. Ed enjoyed spending time with his family, watching TV, collecting pocket knives,fireworks, sailing, and camping. Ed was a loving and devoted husband, and a kind and caring Pawpaw. He worked long and hard to provide for his family. He spent many years coaching softball; he worked many swim meets over the years, and spent many hours relaxing and enjoying the company of his friends and family. He loved his wife’s cooking, hours of conversation with his son-in-law, and eating the “stinky feet” of his grandchildren. He was better known as PawPaw and will be missed dearly. He was a wealth of knowledge, and would always say, “I know everything, ask me anything.” The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2018 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the Chester Chapel 3050 W. Hundred Rd. Chester, VA 23831.
