Edward Wallace Cox, age 80, of Chesterfield, VA, formerly of Colonial Heights, VA, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2010. He was born in Iowa City, IA, the son of the late Glen N. and Bertha Slezak Cox. Mr. Cox was a retired mechanical engineer who loved the outdoors, and took great pride in his yard. He was also very fond of model ship building, making furniture, and working with wood. Mr. Cox is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Carol D. Cox; children, Edward Cox and wife, Deborah of Ashland, VA, Julie Davenport and husband, Sam of Dallas, TX, Joan Cox of Dallas, TX, Susan Morgan and husband, Julian of Matoaca, VA, and Noni Lamm and husband, Steven of Chesterfield; 19 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Phyllis Rigdon and husband, Wilson of Philadelphia, PA, and Susan Reilly and husband, Robert of Irvington, NY; and a brother, Robert Cox of Baltimore, MD. A graveside funeral service will be held in honor of Mr. Cox on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. The family is being served by the Chester chapel of J. T.
