Edwin Lawrence Vargo, 73, formerly of Pine Ridge Trailer Park in Prince George County, died Sunday, October 17, 2004 in Waverly Health Care Center. Mr. Vargo was born in Prince George County and had been a lifelong resident. He was the owner and operator of the E.L. Trucking Company, Mr. Vargo was preceded in death by his parents, George and Susan Hankovky Vargo and was the widower of Mildred M. Vargo. He is survived by his two sons, Edwin L. “Larry” Vargo, Jr. of Prince George, Oakley R. Hayden, Jr. and his wife Flora of Chester, four granddaughters, Christina Sparks and her husband Bradley, Catherine Brooks and her husband Cliff, all of Powhatan, Regina Haddon and her husband Christopher of Dinwiddie, and Amy Hayden of Colonial Heights, Two grandsons, Michael Vargo and his wife Jennifer of Hopewell, and Oakley Ray Hayden, III of Chesterfield County, Two brothers; George Vargo of Fairview, Pa., Paul Varga of Falmouth, Maine; two sisters; Pauline Bresko of Lexington, S.C. and Irene Myers of Raleigh, N.C. five great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 20, 2004 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son, Inc. Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 21, 2004 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, Prince George County.
