Elbert Gray

Elbert Frederick Gray, 73, of Petersburg, went to be with the Lord on, June 8, 2010; beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a faithful member of Monumental Baptist Church and loved his church family. He dedicated his life to hard work and helping others. Elbert was a distinguished member of the U.S. Army and served 23 years, he was also a proud truck driver with the HON and ABC companies for many years. He was preceded in death by his daughter Debbie Gray. He is survived by his wife, Margret Gray of Petersburg and twin brother, Elmer Gray; eight children, Marion and John Beattie of Midlothian, Marc and Susan Watko of Hopewell, Tonya Helmer, John and Keilana Souza all of Prince George, Cathy and Fred Marks of Prince George, Janet Kimberlin of Goshen, VA, Vickie Gray and Dennis Gray both of Michigan. Affectionately known as OPA to James and Jordan Bright of Richmond, Jessica Bright of Midlothian, Dustin Helmer of Prince George, KeAndre, Kaiyla and Kaleb Souza all of Prince George, numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members. A Memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, June 11, 2010 at Monumental Baptist Church in Petersburg with Pastor Barry Ginn officiating.
