Eleanor Irene Mozur Brooks, 61, of Prince George County, passed away Saturday March 14, 2009. She was the daughter of the late Joseph P. & Irene Kodish Mozur. Eleanor taught for the better part of 20 years and it was her passion. Eleanor was currently teaching at Petersburg High School as a Spanish Teacher, prior to that she taught at Peabody Middle School. Before transferring to the public school system she taught at St. Vincent de Paul High School as a language teacher. Eleanor was fluent in Spanish, French and Italian. She was member of the Phoenix Dance Studio and loved to ballroom dance with her husband. She loved her cats Whiskers, Izzie and Sebastian. Eleanor is survived by her loving husband John P. Brooks, devoted daughter, Caterina L. Brooks, and 4 amazing brothers, Joseph P. Mozur & wife Petra , Michael C. Mozur & wife Barbara all of Florida, Stephen A. Mozur & wife Elaine of Pennsylvania, Gerald E. Mozur & wife Tiina of Missouri, 11 nieces & nephews. A Christian Wake will be held Tuesday March 17, 2009 7:00 PM , at Saint Joseph Catholic Church with a visitation to follow. . A memorial service will be held Wednesday March 18, 2009 11:00 Am at St. Joseph Catholic Church with entombment to follow in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Massey Cancer Center in Richmond, VA or to the Pancreatic Action Network via www.pancan.org Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com . The family would like to send a special Thank You to all the physicians and nurses on the Critical Care Unit at VCU Hospital for their love and care.
