Eleonor Ruth Slade

Eleonore Ruth Slade departed this life on Sunday, March 26, 2018. She was born on March 29, 1929 in Fellbach, Germany to the late Otto Alfred Baumann and Anna Beato Baumann. She was the fourth oldest of eight brothers and three sisters. She attended high school in Germany. Eleonore was employed with the U.S. Army as an International Telephone Operator with Robinson Barrack in Stuttgart, Germany, and also employed as a Security Guard Sergeant with Nevamar Corporation at Ft. Meade, Maryland. She was an animal lover and an advocate to the Cruelty to Animals, loved plants and flowers. She leaves to cherish fond loving memories, husband of 51 years, John J. Slade; sisters, Ruth Netzel, and Marie Schorer; and brothers in Germany; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, close and devoted friends, Ilse Small, Elfriede Finley and other devoted friends. A memorial service will be held, 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 5, 2018 at J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home of Petersburg. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
