Elijah Emmett Newcomb

Elijah Emmett Newcomb, 92, of Disputanta, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah and Bessie Tuck Newcomb; his loving wife, Helen Marie Tuck Newcomb; daughter, Betty Newcomb; and daughter, Helen Newcomb Burnette. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Ann Snellings (Lee); daughter, Ellen Marie Newcomb; son, Larry E. Newcomb; son, Emmett T. Newcomb; son, Crowder L. Newcomb; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Mr. Newcomb served in the U. S. Army during WWII, landing in Normandy, France on D-Day June 6, 1944. When he returned home from the war; he went on to open his own business, and ran E.E. Newcomb Trucking Company as Owner and CEO until his retirement. The family will receive friends from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home 3050 W. Hundred Rd. Chester, VA 23831. A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Monday, May 13, 2019 at Dale Memorial Park. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hunter Homes McGuire VA Medical Center.
