Elizabeth Cloninger

CLONINGER, Elizabeth "Betty", passed away November 11, 2021. She was raised in Wise, Virginia and Chattanooga, Tennessee. She retired as Assistant Treasurer at the Richmond Postal Credit Union, where she worked for 22 years. Betty enjoyed travel, quilting, mystery novels, mentoring children at a local elementary school and being a part of the Chester Women's Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Cloninger. She is survived by her brother, Robert Kennedy and his wife, Janice. She is also survived by her four children and their spouses, Deborah and Thomas Ballard, Ronald Cloninger and Leigh Hulcher, Gerald Cloninger and Julie and Him Yang and their families, including five grandchildren: Austin Ballard, Tyler Beth Clarke, River Cloninger, Olivia Yang and Rose Yang and five great-grandchildren: Rylie Ballard, Tatum Clarke, Landon Clarke, Harper Ballard and Tucker Ballard. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will be private in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Elizabeth Cloninger.
