Elizabeth Renne Hinckle

Elizabeth “Beth” Renne Hinckle, 51, of Surry, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018. She was preceded in death by her father, Chaplain Lt. Col. Eric Stafford Renne, Sr. She is survived by her son, Douglas Shannon Hinckle; mother, Martha Moore Renne; sister, Christina Renne Lee; brother, Eric Stafford Renne, Jr.; uncles, Merilyn M. Renne and wife, Marion, and H. Ellett Moore, Jr. and wife, Lee; nephews, Henry Lee and Leslie Lee; and niece, Virginia Lee. Beth was born on Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. Being brought up in a military family, Beth traveled often. She was raised on Langley Air Force Base, VA, Wheeler Air Force Base, HI, and Chantilly, VA. She spent her working career as a Library Aide in the Loudon County Library System. Beth enjoyed being active in the Westfield High School Orchestra Boosters. She was an avid reader and loved animals. Because of the gracious way she handled her lifelong struggle with diabetes and severe breast cancer, her family considers her the bravest person they have ever known. She will be dearly missed. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August, 10, 2018 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 11891 Rolfe Hwy Surry, VA 23883.
