ELIZABETH FRANCK MOORE
Elizabeth Franck Moore of Surry County, VA, entered into the eternal joy of our Lord on April 5, 2015 at the Waverly Health and Rehabilitation Center, Waverly, VA after a brief illness. Elizabeth was born in Richmond, VA, on March 31, 1914, and later lived in Colonial Heights, Petersburg, and Dinwiddie County before moving to Scotland in Surry County in 1976. She was the oldest living graduate of the Petersburg School of Nursing and later served for many years as an assistant director of nursing at Petersburg General Hospital, predecessor of Southside Regional Medical Center. Elizabeth was a long time member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Petersburg and then St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Surry. For many years she was a member of the St. Paul’s Altar Guild, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Surry Garden Club, the Retired Nurses Association and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Ladies Auxiliary, Petersburg. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband Homer E. Moore in 1989. She is survived by her daughter Martha Moore Renne (Eric) of Surry, and her son H. Ellett Moore, Jr. (Liette) of Orlando, FL, grandchildren, Beth Renne Hinckle, Christa Renne Lee, Eric Stafford Renne, Jr., Melissa Moore Frank, Vanessa Moore Hathaway and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at 365 Riverview Drive, Surry, VA, on Wednesday, April 8, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, April 9, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Surry, at 11 A.M. Friday, April 10, 2015, followed by a reception in the parish hall. Interment will be held at 3:00 p.m. in Blandford Cemetery, 319 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, VA. Arrangements are by J. T.
