ELIZABETH OWEN MORRIS, 79, passed away Monday, October 10, 2005 at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, Va. Born February 11, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Charles S. Owen, Sr. and Edith Edwards Owen. Elizabeth was the widow of Dennis Elwood Morris; a lifelong member of Wakefield United Methodist Church where she was teacher of the nursery from 1950 through 1990, and loved her hobby of china painting.
She is survived by her daughter, Deanne M. Flynn of Richmond, VA; grandson, John Patrick Flynn, III, of Greenville, SC; three brothers, Charles S. Owen, Jr. and Oscar R. Owen, both of Wakefield, and Robert L. Owen of Suffolk; a dear aunt and friend, Elva Magee of Wakefield; her devoted nephew, Robert Bryant, III of Richmond; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 13, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. in the Wakefield United Methodist Church, Wakefield, with the Rev. G. C. Branton, III officiating. Interment will follow in Wakefield Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday evening, October 12th, 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Nursery Department, Wakefield United Methodist Church, 112 Wilson Ave., Wakefield, VA 23888.
