Elizabeth "Betty" Ruiz

Elizabeth “Betty” Ruiz, 93, of Hopewell, VA., departed this life, Sunday, February 7, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mary Gunn; brother, Robert Gunn; Sisters, Rose Harobin and Mary Huntley; daughter, Janet Ruiz.
She is survived by sons, Phillip Ruiz (Doris), Gene Ruiz, Larry Ruiz (Linda); daughter, Doreen Sloan; grandchildren, Kevin Ruiz (Tammy), Don Sloan (Robin), Sean Ruiz, Lauren, Kristan Ruiz, Shana Wallace (Wesley); Great-Grandchildren:, Don, Zach, Josh Sloan; Tyler, Cameron, Nathan, Katie Ruiz; Madi Wallace; Ashley (Darrell) and Abi Aleshire; and multiple nieces and nephews.
On Friday, February 12, 2016, at 12:30 pm a Holy Rosary will commence followed by a Mass of Resurrection, at 1:00 pm at St. James Catholic Church 510 W. Poythress St. Hopewell, VA. The family will receive friends following the service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers to honor her 60+ years of active membership, memorial contributions may be made to St. James Catholic Church.
