Due to the inclement weather, the services for Mrs. Smith have been changed to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 28, 2010 at Covenant Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow the service at Southlawn Memorial Park.

Elizabeth Davis Smith, 90, of Petersburg, widow of Charles Curtis Smith, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Southside Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Cumberland County, North Carolina and the daughter of the late James Alexander and Meta Pearl Marsh Davis. She is preceded in death by her only son Charles C. Smith, Jr. She was a retired Recovery Room Secretary at Southside Regional Medical Center for 25 years. She is survived by two daughters, Sarah S. Garner of Petersburg and Linda S. Saunders of VA Beach; eight grandchildren, Randy Saunders and wife, Becky of VA. Beach, Beth Snead and husband, David of Prince George, Chris Saunders and wife, Jenny of VA Beach, Cathy Stutz and husband, Ricky of Colonial Heights, Joy Parlow and husband, Rodney of Prince George, Margaret Jackson, Holly Smith both of Richmond, and Lynne Garner of Petersburg; thirteen great-grandchildren; brother, Henry Davis and wife, Dot of North Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special thanks to a close and devoted friend, Katherine Brooks. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday, December 27, 2010 at the Covenant Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Sarah Nave officiating. Interment will be in Southlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Interfaith Adult Day Care, 201 Walnut Blvd. Petersburg, Virginia 23805. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
