Elizabeth Ann Sowards

Elizabeth Ann Sowards, 78, of Disputanta, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas G. and Grace Berryman Jones; and her loving husband of 58 years, William Ted Sowards. Elizabeth retired from Honeywell after 20 plus years, and was an early member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Burrowsville Volunteer Fire Department. She enjoyed watching Purple Martins, Hummingbirds, and cooking for her family and friends. She is survived by her sons, Douglas Sowards and his wife, Connie, Tony Sowards; grandchildren, Chandler, Jarred, Heather, Jasmine; sister, Brenda Carroll and her husband, Percy; brothers, Milton Jones and his wife, Bonnie, Melvin Jones and his wife, Barbara; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. She was a loving, generous, and thoughtful wife, mother, grandmother and will be greatly missed. A graveside service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens. The family is being served by the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home.
