Elizabeth Bolling Williams Zehmer, a lifelong resident of Petersburg, died Friday, May 11, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Paul E. Williams, Jr. and Ann Cameron Williams. She was predeceased by her husband Richmond Thweatt Zehmer, Jr. and brother Paul E. Williams III. Elizabeth was a graduate of St. Maryâ??s School in Raleigh, NC, and Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX where she was a member of Zeta Tau sorority. She was a founding member of Raleigh Parrish Garden Club and a former member of the Petersburg Garden Club. Mrs. Zehmer was a lifetime member of St. Paulâ??s Episcopal Church where she was a member of the Altar Guild, started the Sunday morning breakfast program, was a Sunday School teach and a member of the St. Monicas Guild. She is survived by three sons, Richmond Thweatt Zehmer, III and wife, Judy of Midlothian, George Cameron Zehmer of Richmond, and Robert Bolling Zehmer and wife, Brooke of Glen Allen; six grandchildren, Courtney Z. Hanak and husband, Nick, Carrie R. Zehmer, Margaret Elizabeth Zehmer, Ann Cameron Zehmer, Elizabeth Randolph Zehmer, Robert Bolling Zehmer, Jr.; great-grandson, Everett J. Hanak sister, Ann W. Lewis. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Monday, May 14, 2012 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 15th at St. Paulâ??s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Rick Greenwood, Rector officiating. Interment will follow at Blandford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Paulâ??s Episcopal Church, 110 Union Street, Petersburg, VA 23803 and/or Crater Community Hospice, 3916 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, VA 23805.
