Ella Mae Fisher

Ella Mae Fisher, 93, of Dinwiddie, passed away on January 29, 2014. Born in Dinwiddie Co., she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Lee Fisher, three daughters, Infant Katherine Fisher, Mary F. Vaughan and Linda Lee F. Glass; four sisters, Frances Wright, Charlotte Hoffman, Bertha Quinn and Patricia Talley, and one brother, L.M. Blackman. Mrs. Fisher was a longtime member of Lebanon United Methodist Church, and was also a member of the Dinwiddie Historical Society and the Petersburg Chapter of the Daughters of the Confederacy #155. She had retired from Kenner Army Hospital on Ft. Lee after many years of service as a nurse. She is survived by her grandchildren, Katherine E. Vaughan, John Lee Glass, and Mary Elizabeth Mira and husband, Jose; two sons-in-law, John A. Glass and Fendall E. Vaughan; two sisters, Ruth Stevens and Mary Holden; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 3, 2014 at Lebanon United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Fair, officiating. Interment will follow in Prospect Christian Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lebanon United Methodist Church or the Dinwiddie Branch of Appomattox Regional Library.
