Ellen Rouse

Ellen Hening Rouse, 81, of Hopewell, died Monday, July 5, 2010. Mrs. Rouse was born in Richmond and spent most of her life in Hopewell. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and was retired from the Hopewell Housing Authority as the manager of Kippax Place. Mrs. Rouse was the daughter of the late Thomas Scott and Elizabeth Paris Hening and the widow of Alexander Nicholson Rouse, Sr. She is survived by her son, Alexander N. Rouse, Jr. and his wife Sharon of Virginia Beach, VA, a daughter, Suzanne R. Dodd and her husband Randy of Hopewell, four grandchildren, Trip Rouse, III and his wife Tara, Shannon Rouse, Jeremy Dodd and his wife Jaimie, Jessie Dodd and his wife Elise, three great grandchildren, two brothers, Locksley P. Hening and his wife Linda of Mechanicsville, VA, William T. Hening and his wife Mary Lou of Richmond, VA, a brother-in-law, Hugh Glass of Hanover County, VA, many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Resurrection will be held Friday, July 9, 2010 at 12:00 Noon in St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Frank Wiggins officiating. Interment will be in Appomattox Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
