Ellen R. Russell

Ellen R. Russell, 87, of Chester, VA, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Otho and Elilzabeth Robinson of Orange County, VA. She graduated from the Petersburg School of Nursing in 1963 and spent her life taking care of others. She retired from John Randolph Hospital after 50 years of service and continued to serve her community by volunteering her time at the hospital. She was a member of the American Legion and attended services at Cutbanks Baptist Church in McKenney, VA. She is preceded in death by her husband, Craig R. Russell, Sr.; and her beloved sons, Gary W. Landes and Jack R. Miller, Jr., both of Prince George County, VA. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her daughter, Jamie McFadden and husband, Barry P. McFaddon, Jr.; grandchildren, Dawn Miller, Zayne Landes, Benton P. McFaddon, Shane Miller, Eric Smith, and Camron Tawes; sister, Katherine Hawkins and husband, Lathan; sister-in-law, Kathy Volante and her husband, Peter; brother-in-law, Kenneth Russell and wife, Gloria. She also leaves behind stepchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She will truly be missed by all those who were blessed to know her. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Cutbanks Baptist Church, 24203 Cutbank Rd, McKenney, VA 23872.
