Ellis Earl Smith Jr.

Ellis Earl Smith, Jr., 93, of Disputanta, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2015. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Ellis Earl Smith, Sr. and Cecilia Rosenstock Crowley and was also preceded in death by his wives, Carolyn VanNess Smith and Jeanne Richardson Smith; daughter, Ellisa Ozmore. Mr. Smith served his country proudly in the United States Air Force and worked for Southern Coatings as a salesman for many years. He is survived by his daughters, Kathryn Sherry Michalik and her husband, John, Jeanne Link and her husband, James; brother, Benjamin M. Smith and his wife, Frieda; grandchildren, Fred Link, Sarah Harrison, Heather Pritchett, Kathrine Cordova and Daniel Ozmore; five great-grandchildren and several extended family members. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Interment will be announced at a later date.
