Eloise Tuck

Eloise Grizzard Tuck, 77, of Prince George Co., died February 17, 2008 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born September 21, 1930 in Greensville County, VA the daughter of the late Lester J. Grizzard and Sallie Taylor Grizzard. She was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn H. Grizzard. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Thomas M. Tuck, and two children, Bonnie White and husband Robert White of Tazewell, VA and Thomas M. Tuck, Jr. and wife Susan Banik Tuck of Amelia, VA. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Matthew Jason Tuck and wife, Jacqueline of Powhatan, Christopher Owen Tuck and wife, Michelle of Chesterfield, and Sarah Tuck Valois and husband, Kevin of Schenectady, NY and one great grandchild, Adelynn Colleen Tuck of Powhatan. She is also survived by three sisters, Imogene Midkiff of Emporia, Amy Bradley of Petersburg, and Peggy Powell of Portsmouth, and two brothers, Quentin T. Grizzard of Emporia and Les Grizzard of Springfield, VA. Eloise was born and raised in Greensville County (Emporia) and graduated from Greensville County High School. She was a longtime member of West End Baptist Church in Petersburg. She was very active in her church until her illness and taught Sunday School for more than twenty years. Eloise was a past member of the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs. She enjoyed gardening and flower arranging. Eloise will be missed but always remembered for her love of flowers, her love for family and her friendships that touched so many lives. The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers, Corrine, Flossie, Vennis, Tracey, Althria and Alice. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service from 6 pm to 8 pm. Graveside services will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at Southlawn Memorial Park with the Rev. John Crocker, officiating.
