Elpie Doulis Gadinis

Mrs. Elpie Doulis Gadinis, died peacefully on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at her home in Hopewell, Virginia. She was born in Hopewell, on February 20, 1928, to the late Stavros and Barbara Doulis. Both her parents were charter members of Saint Elpis Greek Orthodox Church, in Hopewell. Elpie was active in and a lifelong member of the same church. She was also a member of the Historic Hopewell Foundation and served as a docent at Weston Manor. Elpie was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Charles Gadinis; and her brothers, Christos and Paul Doulis. She is survived by son, Charles Michael Gadinis and wife, Ellen; son, Stephen George Gadinis; grandchildren, Isabella Marie Gadinis and Michael George Gadinis; as well as two step grandchildren, Adam James (Gena) and Kerrie Rogers (Ryan); and five step great-grandchildren. Elpie's extended family consisted of niece, Barbara Miles; and nephews, Stephen Doulis, John Doulis, and William Pargeans. The family will receive friends at Saint Elpis Greek Orthodox Church, in Hopewell, from 10 am to 11 am, on Thursday, December 8, 2022. Funeral services will follow immediately at 11 am, at the same location. A traditional Greek meal will be held in the Blue Room, on the church property, after the funeral. A committal service will be conducted at Sunset Memorial Park, in Chester, Virginia, at 2:00 pm. The family is being served by the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
