Elsie Bess

Elsie Morris Bess, age 81, of Port Haywood, VA, formerly of Chester, VA, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2010. She was born in Madison, GA, the daughter of the late Robert B. and Nora Anderson Morris. Mrs. Bess was a past member of the Matthews Womenâ??s Club and a retiree of Dupont Spruance Plant, Chesterfield after approximately 37 years of service. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mrs. Bess is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, William Cecil Bess; a sister, Marion Camack and husband, David; children, Robert M. â??Raeâ? Bess and wife, Judy, and Deborah Bess Lindsey and husband, Kirk; granddaughters, Laura Bess, Rebecca Baugus and husband, James, and Courtney Lindsey; great grandchildren, Dean Baugus and Madison Baugus; and a devoted caregiver, Linda Tyler. The family will receive friends on Monday January 11, 2010 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday January 12, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park, Chester.
