Elsie Ward

Elsie Myra Ward, 90, of Chester, Virginia, passed away on March 11, 2009. She was born in Donora, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Charles and S. Ellen Hines. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James W. N. Ward; daughter, Janet Ward Carwile; sister, Anna J. Hines; and brothers, John W. Hines, Charles G. Hines and Emil C Hines. Mrs. Ward was a retired civil service worker and a member of West End Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Bryan C. Ward; two grandsons, James Ward and Joseph Carwile (Jessica); two granddaughters, Shannon Taylor (Herman) and Kimberlee Tanner (Mike); seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Dolores Kosarek; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will take place Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 2 p.m. in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, Virginia. Condolences to the family may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com
