Elton, 98 years old, died after a brief illness at CJW Hospital on April 29, 2016 with his wife by his side. Elton was born and raised in Steamboat Springs Colorado and the son of the late Claude Elton Beverly and Ruth Rutherford Beverly. After graduating from Denver University with a Chemical Engineering degree, he went to Iowa University where he earned a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering. Upon graduation, he worked for Allied Chemicals (now Honeywell Corporation), where he retired after 45 years of service in 1985. Elton had many hobbies during his lifetime, but his favorite was as an amateur thespian. He had many roles with John Rolfe Players as well as the lead in "Harvey" at Swift Creek Theater. Survivors include his wife, Betty Moore Beverly; daughter, Roberta Abrecht; brother Robert G. Beverly, his wife, Vivian and their family; and Betty's son and daughter, Aubrey S. DesPortes, Jr. and Betty Layne DesPortes.
