Emil Paul Stech, 88, of Disputanta, passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2018. Born in Prince George, he was the son of the late Roger Stech and Georgie Kvansicka Stech. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Georgie Stech Spinner. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joyce Padgett Stech; daughters, Sharon Stech Edlin and her husband, Walter, Marianne Kay Stech, and Paula Stech Peck and her husband, David; grandchildren, Ashley Marantz and her husband, Corin, Stephanie Haydt and her husband, Hunter, Taylor Boatright, Travis Boatright, Nicholas Baines, Allison Baines, Matthew Baines, Tyler Peck, and Hunter Peck; great-grandchildren, Charlotte Marantz, Brant Haydt, and Grace Haydt; and sister, Emily Stech Chudoba. Mr. Stech proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was employed with the Virginia Department of Forestry retiring after 28 years of service. He was a member of the Disputanta Volunteer Fire Department for 50 years. Mr. Stech will be dearly missed by all who knew him. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park.
