Emily Jean Mason

Our dear mother, Emily Jean Mason, sadly passed away on December 31, 2023, at the age of 83, "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" 2 Corinthians 5:8, born April 30, 1940, in Winchester, Virginia.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed movies, books, shopping, and playing cards with her grandson. She loved the Lord with all her heart. Jean was a member of Monumental Baptist Church in Petersburg, Virginia. Before becoming ill, she was active in her church by teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, and participating in various organizations within the church. You could always count on Jean to be a loving helping hand.
Surviving Jean is her loving and devoted husband of 57 years, Harry J Mason; her five children, Debra Williams, Tina (Paul) Raby, Jacqueline (Marvin) Goodrich, Tony Williams, and David Williams; her seven grandchildren, Marvin, Nicholas, and Brandon Goodrich, Jeri Evagood, Sedina Drake, Anna and Alex Raby; her two great-grandchildren, Aidan Drake and Arthur Raby; plus numerous, and much loved nieces and nephews in Winchester, VA.
Emily Jean Mason was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ruth McFarland; and her brothers, Teddy McFarland, Steve McFarland, and Benny McFarland. A Celebration of Life for Emily Jean Mason will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at 2:00 pm, in the afternoon at Monumental Baptist Church, 2925 South Crater Road, Petersburg, VA 23805. In lieu of flowers, please give a donation to the Church in Emily Jean's memory.
