Emma Jenkins

Emma Louise Green Jenkins, age 79, of Glen Allen, VA, went to be with our Savior on Tuesday, January 15, 2008. She was born in Richmond, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Jones Greene. Emma was a dedicated employee of 18 years for the American Tobacco Company and then went on to be a wonderful foster mother for 30 years for the City of Richmond. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert William Jenkins, and a son, Robert Eugene Jenkins. Emma is survived by four daughters, Shirley Blackmon Lowry and husband William Edward Lowry, Mary A. Downey, Cindy O. Hicks, and Sharon Lynn Acton; seven grandchildren, Lynne Marie Colacone, Lawrence William Blackmon, Randolph Eugene Blackmon, Joshua Matthew Hicks, Mariah Nicole Acton, Chelsey Renee Herring, and Jennifer Gleason; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Blanche G. Baber and Dorothy Steele; and a host of nieces, nephews, and loved ones. The family will receive friends at the J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Chester on Thursday, January 17, 2008 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Funeral Services will follow there on Friday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in West Hampton Memorial Park, Richmond.
