Eric Mckenney

Eric Daniel McKenney, 19, of Dinwiddie Co., passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 19, 2012. Eric was preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Rose McKenney; and maternal grandfather, Clifton Westmoreland. He loved to fish, hunt, ride motorcycles, and spend time at his uncle Georgeâ??s in Sussex. Eric was a 2011 graduate of Dinwiddie Co. High School and was also a member of the Yale Hunt Club in Sussex. Eric was currently attending John Tyler Community College to receive his certificate in welding. Eric is survived by his mother, Rosemary W. McKenney; father, Charles â??Pookieâ? T. McKenney; a brother, Jeffrey C. McKenney and wife, Melissa; one sister, Tracy M. Cherrix and husband, Dwight; maternal grandmother, Mary L. Belcher; aunts and uncles, Brenda Carter and husband, Russ, Marvin Westmoreland and wife Debbie, Joseph Daniel and wife, Sherrie, Mike Daniel, Myra Free, Everett D. McKenney and friend, Pam Munford, John W. McKenney and wife, Phyllis; longtime girlfriend and best friend, Katerina Procopio; and numerous friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Rowland, officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, VA.
