Ernest Lewis "Ernie" Hastings

Ernest Lewis “Ernie” Hastings, 84, of Chester, VA passed away at Sitter and Barfoot Veterans Care Center on, March 6, 2016 after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease. He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Hastings; son, W. Michael Hastings (Deborah); step son, W. Michael Kidd (Thelma); four grandchildren, Adele York (Nathan), Josie Allouche (Jay), Sean and Chelsea Kidd; five great grandchildren Elijah, Elle, Iyla, Silas, Joshua; numerous extended family and friends. Ernie was former owner of Harbor Light in Hopewell, VA and owner of Hastings Seafood on Old Hundred Road in Chester, VA. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force and was a member of Southside Church of the Nazarene where he taught Sunday school for over 17 years. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 W. Hundred Rd., Chester, VA 23831. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
