Ernest Ray Tomlin

Ernest Ray Tomlin, 55, of Hopewell, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023. Ernest was a loving father that loved Jeeps, gardening, politics, Washington Redskins, grilling, hanging with his dog, Atlas, while eating ice cream, and watching YouTube. More than anything he enjoyed spending time with his son wrenching on new projects while drinking a Cobra Libre.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Reynard Keith and Dorothy Tomlin; and sisters, Renee Chiarky and Teresa Wallace. He is survived by his son, Christopher Alan Tomlin; brother, Jesse Keith Tomlin Sr.; nephew, Jesse Keith Tomlin Jr.; and nieces, Courtney Shea, Elizabeth Reynolds, and Rose Wallace.
Mr. Tomlin proudly served in the U.S. Navy for seven years. He also worked for the GSA Region 4, for the Federal Government out of Raleigh, NC.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home - Dinwiddie, 6616 Boydton Plank Road.
