Ernest West

Ernest E. â??Sonnyâ? West, age 79, of Chester, VA, sunrise December 20, 1930, sunset August 19, 2010. He was born in Richmond, VA the son of the late Willie E. West and Estelle Stingle Dance. Mr. West was a decorated veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Korean War. He was a retired Group Supervisor with Phillip Morris. Mr. West is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Merle Ancarrow West; a son, Shane West and wife, Gwen; grandsons, Michael West and Justin West; and many loving nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. James W. Brooks, Jr. They will receive friends at the Chester chapel of J. T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home on Sunday, August 22, 2010 from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. A Funeral service will take place in the funeral home chapel on Monday, August 23, 2010 at 11:00am.
