Estelle E. Morris, 90, of Colonial Heights, Virginia, passed away Friday, December 3, 2010. Estelle was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Emmett Morris, Sr. She was a 1938 graduate of Sussex County High School and attended Petersburg Hospital Inc. School of Nursing, graduating May 26, 1941, becoming a registerd nurse that same year. She began her career at Petersburg General Hospital and retired from Brown and Williamson. She will be truly missed by her friends at Southpark Mall and Piccadilly Cafeteria. She is survived by a son, Henry E. Morris, Jr. PhD and partner Carole Roper of Richmond, Virginia; grandchildren, Carrie E. Morris, Clayton A. Morris and Carolyn E. Morris; a daughter, Mary Morris Davenport and husband, Glenn, formerly of the Outer Banks, now residing in Florida; grandson, Chris Kittinger; step-grandchildren, Lisa Urquhart, Megan Gray, Dawn Davenport, Amy Daniels; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins from both the Morris and Ellis families. A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 7, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. In lieu of gathering after the funeral service, the family invites friends and relatives to gather at Piccadilly Cafeteria at Southpark Mall at 11 a.m. prior to the service. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, Virginia.
